Asheville Arts & Crafts Conference At The Grove Park Inn, Youtube Video
The New York Times published that this event is "The most impressive weekend of the year for Arts & Crafts collectors". This annual Arts & Crafts style show is held at the Grove Park Inn and is scheduled February 19th through February 21st. This Arts & Crafts Conference features numerous exhibits, book signings by authors, discussion groups, Arts & Crafts seminars, and other related Arts & Crafts events. The Arts & Crafts style event is held at the Grove Park Inn and is scheduled on Friday from 1-6 PM, Saturday from 12- 6 PM, and Sunday from from 11-4PM. The event is scheduled to draw at least 125 vendors including 50 top antique dealers along with 25 booksellers which would include publishers and authors. Participants at this premier event will enjoy hands on work shops, take part in walking tours, watch demonstrations, attend discussion groups and learn from the educational exhibits. Visitors will also be able to admire the Arts & Crafts style of the Grove Park Inn and Resort.
The Asheville area growth that occurred during the early 20th century has left many homes that were built in the Arts & Crafts style. This style is especially evident in the Kenilworth, Monfort, North Asheville, and West Asheville. Arts & Crafts style had been known as a practical and more affordable alternative to Victorian. Arts & Crafts style was also sophisticated, durable, and simple and continues to be popular today.
