Iron Tree Golf Course- Nine hole course that is convenient to Asheville and Tennessee because of its location off I-40 at exit 24. This course features a creek flowing through the middle of many holes and is tree lined. The beautiful location in Crabtree is also reflected on this hilly course. The course design includes sand bunkers. Men and women tee off from the same location. 636 Iron Tree Drive, Clyde, NC 828-627-1933 Lake Junaluska Golf Course- A short demanding 18 hole course. The  challenge will be from the trees and water hazards on key holes. There are three fairways with a dogleg, although they are wide open. Players will encounter several water hazards as you play along with the trees that may change the direction of the ball as you play. Carts are mandatory for this hilly course. Golfweek Magazine said "the course by which all mountain courses will be judged". Water hazards and trees will challenge your game on some holes. Golfweek rated this course as one of America's best. Another honor was given by Southern Living Travel Guide placing it within the top 50 southern resort courses. The front nine are in the valley and the back nine in the surrounding hills. The slope of the greens at 11,13, and 16 can be challenging. Course is the home to WNC Senior Men's Open and the WNC Jane Marvel Junior Tournament. The front nine of this course in the mountains will provide a challenge to all skill levels. The back nine will go through the valley and then the last three holes return to the mountains. This is a beautiful course with streams and ponds. The 6th green will give you a spectacular view of famous Cold Mountain. 200 Golfwatch Road, Canton, NC 828-235-8451 Waynesville Country Club- A resort that has three nine hole courses that can be played in various combinations. The Blue Ridge Course is the more mountainous and scenic with hilly fairways although with somewhat opened and well bunkered large greens. The least hilly course is Carolina Course. Four holes are challenged by two ponds, and this nine hole course has mostly straightaway fairways. The course is the Dogwood Course and of the three it is the shortest and narrowest. Three holes are challenged by three ponds.
